How to sprout alfalfa seeds

Alfalfa sprouts are gaining popularity day by day. Alfalfa sprouts are used in many ways such as with sandwiches, wraps, salads and many other foods. They not only add a new flavor to the dishes, but also boast numerous health benefits. Alfalfa sprouts are good sources of antioxidants and vitamins. How to sprout alfalfa seeds

.- Take one teaspoon - one and a half teaspoon alfalfa seeds into a glass mason jar.

- Pour water to cover the beans.

- Put 2 to 3 extra inches of water.

- Use cheesecloth to cover the jar mouth and fasten it with a large rubber.

- Place the jar in a cool, dry place away from any direct sun. (ideal temperature 65 to 75 degrees F).

- Let the jar containing alfalfa seeds and water stand overnight.

- In the morning pour out all of the water through the cheesecloth.

- Remove the cheesecloth and use something to gently stir the damp seeds in the jar.

- Now, aging pour water in to the jar and use a new cheese cloth and a rubber band.

- Repeat the same process for 4 to 6 days.

- The seeds should begin sprouting within 2 – 3 days.

- By the 5th day place the Mason jar in a sunny location for about 20 minutes.

- Use the sprouts that you have grown in the next 24 to 36 hours.

- Discard any uneaten sprouts after that time.
